An Assessment is a multidisciplinary process through which the needs and abilities of a child or young person with a significant sight loss are identified.

It is the starting point for making recommendations about which interventions best enable each child to reach their individual potential.

What Happens?

Following your enquiry the assessment co-ordinator will be in contact. You will be provided with a background information form. Upon return of this form the assessment co-ordinator will arrange dates for the assessment.

During the assessment which usually takes place over a three day period, you and your child will be scheduled to meet with members of the multidisciplinary team.

Accommodation for families is available on the campus upon request

1. Contact St. Joseph's Assessment Co-ordinator

2. Complete and return background information form.

3. Dates for Assessment arranged.

4. Three Day Assessment at St. Joseph's.

5. Follow Up Meeting.

6. Final Assessment report sent to you.
